When Our Worlds Collide

When Our Worlds Collide - Aniesha Brahma Akriti is the manager of a cafe/coffee shop. She has a strained relationship with her parents and she has incrementally closed herself off. She has no idea what she wants to do with her life and no idea what to do about it. Zayne, is a carefree, live in the moment, kind of guy who has moved around so much in his life that he has learned to make do with who and what is at hand and just enjoy. He seems to be the total opposite of Akrita, which is probably why she falls hard for him. Trouble is he is dating her one-time friend.

When I first started reading this book I have to admit the format made it a bit difficult with a heading and quote at the beginning of each chapter. It broke up the rhythm and flow of the reading and I felt that too much was given away, making it a might bit predictable. It didn't take long though for the infectiousness of the story to take over and it most certainly didn't end where I had dreaded that it would. The idea of documenting chance and peripheral meetings through time and then tying it all together is quite clever. The book is filled to the brim with fun characters that make you want to know their story as much as the Akrita's. It is a true pleasure to watch them all develop and grow into the story. There are truly no unimportant characters in this book.
