Nearly everyone is familiar with the story of Ebenezer Scrooge. Have you ever been curious as to what the other characters of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” were up to when Scrooge was being taken on a Christmas Voyage through his life? This is the story of the charity collectors. They have taken in a young orphan boy and their search to find his family touches and intertwines with the beloved story Dickens told so well, encountering, Nephew Fred, the ghost of Jacob Marley, The ghost of Christmas and others.
This book was no more difficult to read than the original, A Christmas Carol. I did enjoy the out and about flavor of the story along with seeing minor characters in a different light. The original story has been done, been abridged and been sanitized in so many ways over the years that this was a terrific original take on it.
